FOUR YEARS OF ARTIST COLLABORATIONS

PARKETT/ART MAGAZINE

Concurrent to the Fischli/Weiss exhibition, Portikus introduces the art magazine Parkett, published in Zurich, which has recently opened a new editorial and publishing-house office in Frankfurt. 17 preference editions and artist collaborations of European and American artists have been created specially for this "magazine in book form". They convey an extraordinary view of current art production in both continents. Each issue of the quarterly Parkett is produced in close co-operation with an artist, who is involved in choosing texts and illustrations. In addition, he/she makes an artistic contribution addressing the magazine as a medium. Art itself thus becomes an essential part of each issue and is no longer only an object to be described.

Collaborations to date include: with Enzo Cucchi, Francesco Clemente (Italy), Sigmar Polke, Rebecca Horn, Georg Baselitz (Germany), Meret Oppenheim (Switzerland), Gilbert & George (England), Eric Fischl, Andy Warhol, Robert Wilson (USA), and now Peter Fischli/David Weiss (Switzerland).
